Someone Watching Me – I don’t know why my friends refer to it as “someone watching me”, but it does happen. Have you ever noticed that you’re mind drifts here and there, far away from where you’re standing? Your attention drifts and you start feeling a little jumpy? You’re just not yourself. It’s like someone is sitting behind you and whispering into your ear. Sometimes I’ll be by myself and I’ll be watching myself, too.

Then I’ll hear someone talking to me: and it will be somebody watching me with a bit of a challenge. “Stop right there! You can’t do that!” But it doesn’t seem to bother her that much, because she continues on with her talking.

“Well, you know what you can do?” she asks. “You just learn to sing better.” Well, if I’m going to get anywhere in this game, I need to learn how to sing better, right?

What I really want is a coach: Somebody who can tell me the right things to do, so I can improve my voice. How can you be a trainer if you don’t even know how to run? I’ve tried this many times and it doesn’t work. The reason it doesn’t work is because the people who come into my room are all talkers. They just want to talk and they can’t help but mumble.

When I tell them to quiet down: they mumble louder. Or they mumble while talking, but their mouth is open. If you’re like me, then you might mumble right along with other people when you’re watching TV, surfing the Internet, driving – whatever. That’s the problem.

If I want to learn to sing better: I need to figure out how to turn off those distractions and learn to focus on what I want to sing. You can do this by figuring out exactly what kind of music that you’re listening to and learning to match your notes to the music. That’s the only way to get a solid grasp on the subject of who sings someone watching me and even more importantly, how to stop watching yourself and start appreciating the person who’s watching you.

When I’m watching TV and someone starts talking: I know exactly what to do in order to not be distracted and start listening with all my might to the person. That’s why it works so well. People who want to learn how to stop who sings someone watching me will probably go and sit down at the piano and play themselves. That way, they’ll have a clear audio to listen to and see if I’m mumbling or not.

What many people who study singing, and learning: how to control your breathing, can’t to do is imitate the lyrics of someone else. It might work for that guy who’s singing along to the Top 40 hits of the day, but if he can’t sing it properly, it’s pointless. He doesn’t have to. He can just mumble along with his friends and he’ll sound like he knows what he’s doing.

Of course, there are lots of songs on the radio that just won’t do: That’s when you have to get creative. If you’re just mumbling along to every song on your MP3 player, you aren’t really singing. So, if you want to know how to stop who sings someone watching me, start thinking outside the box.
